Nova Ice Skating was built on one belief: the ice is for everyone. Our certified instructors teach students of every age, background, and ability — from toddlers taking their first steps to adults discovering skating for the first time at 60.
Never been on ice? Perfect. We start from zero — standing, balancing, and your first real glide.
You can stand on ice but feel shaky. We build solid technique: forward skating, stopping, basic turns.
Ready to level up? Edge control, crossovers, backwards skating, and speed are next.
Spins, jumps, footwork, and competition prep with USFS-certified instructors.
Every lesson is tailored to you. Here's what our certified instructors cover.
Choosing the right skate, lacing correctly, and gear — before you ever step on the ice.
Gliding, T-stop, snowplow, and basic turns — the foundation every skater needs from day one.
Edge work, crossovers, backwards skating, and jump entries for skaters who are ready to progress.
How to fall safely, share the ice, and navigate a public session — skills every skater needs from day one.
Every Nova instructor is vetted, certified, and passionate about getting you on the ice.

Real reviews from real skaters across the USA and Canada.
"I was terrified of the ice. After one private lesson with my Nova instructor, I was gliding confidently down the rink. I couldn't believe how fast I improved with a 1-on-1 coach."
"My 5-year-old was skating independently after just 3 private sessions. The instructor was incredibly patient and made it so fun. We're now booked every week."
"As an adult beginner, I was embarrassed to try. My Nova instructor made me feel comfortable from minute one. Three months in and I'm doing backwards crossovers — never thought I'd say that."
No. Nova Ice Skating specializes exclusively in private, one-on-one instruction. We believe every skater deserves their instructor's full attention — so we don't offer group classes.
Standard lessons are 60 minutes. Some instructors offer 30-minute intro sessions for very young beginners (ages 3–5). Your instructor will recommend the right length at booking.
No. Most rinks offer rental skates included in the ice admission fee. Your instructor can advise you on purchasing your own skates once you commit to regular lessons.
We teach students as young as 3 years old. Our instructors are trained to work with toddlers through seniors — there is no wrong age to start skating.
Most first-timers are gliding confidently within one 60-minute session. Regular weekly private lessons typically produce dramatic improvement within 4–6 sessions for beginners.
Lessons take place at certified rinks across the USA and Canada. When you book, we match you with an instructor at a rink convenient to your location.
Pricing varies by location and instructor. Most private lessons range from $75–$150 per session. Contact us for exact pricing in your area — we'll match you with an instructor that fits your budget.
